      • As a divorced mom with two small children, AAA has been like a close friend to me. One experience of several, my son and I had traveled a two hour trip to an event. It lasted all day, and as we started home after dark, my car began to chug along. Of course, I was scared but had to be brave for my son, who was more scared than I. We traveled approximately eight miles on the expressway at 20 miles per hour before and exit had a service station. It was 9:00 by now and there was no mechanic on duty, no problem, I called AAA explained my problem, they determined a wrecker may be needed and one would be there in 45 minutes to an hour. Sure enough the mechanic was there in 45 minutes, evaluated the problem, which he thought was probably a sensor. The car started fine then, but the wrecker followed my most of the way home with no more problems. Later, sure enough, I had the sensor replaced. THANK YOU AAA.

      • Don't Leave Home Without Your Membership!
      • On Feb 2nd I received a letter in the mail asking me to join AAA. I read it and threw it down and later on the day I decided to join. So I picked it back up and joined online. One week later I was in Myrtle Beach, SC and it was pouring rain. As I came out of the Home Depot to leave, my 2003 Chevy Silverado I had purchased 2 weeks earlier would not start. The lights would burn but there was no starter contact. I called AAA and in less than 1 hour I was on the road headed home. Thanks AAA. [With one call] I was paid in full for my membership and will keep it the rest of my life. Don’t leave home without it!

      • A few years back a girlfriend and I were on our way home from shopping. After stopping at a Stop sign, I put my foot on the gas to move forward and nothing happened, the car was dead. We were in the middle of traffic and had no where to go. I called Triple A and they were there in what seemed that just a few minutes. It seemed that my car had picked the one and a million corner with a Triple A service location just around the bend. So they did get there in just a few minutes and took care of my problem.

      • We started using our AAA card in 1994 in Florida where it allowed us to get attraction tickets at discount prices. The following year we drove to Delaware to visit our daughter and we had a problem with the car and we called AAA from our daughters home and they came right away and fixed the car so that we could drive home to Florida the next day Last year, here in NC, we were at a vision care office on South Blvd. and our battery died on us. We called AAA and they came within 45 Minutes, because it was very cold and they were very busy. They charged our battery, and then followed us to the nearest Nissan dealer so we could have a new battery installed. I really could go on & on. Oh yes, last month AAA directed us to an insurance agent and we left Allstate (after 57 years) and are saving over 600,00 a year on our car & house. AAA is really the senior’s friend and I recommend them to everyone.

      • A Successful Boat Rescue
      • Our son was returning home from a weekend fishing trip. He was rolling right along on a busy highway when he began having problems with the boat trailer. He was unable to resume pulling his boat and was far enough away from home, that he couldn't unhook it and leave it sitting. We called AAA to report the incident, but AAA did not have a way to move the boat and trailer, but they did put us in contact with someone in the area who could help. We waited for some time, but finally, these two very nice gentlemen with a flatbed just large enough to load the boat and trailer showed up. They were very skilled and knew what they were doing because it was a tedious process getting it loaded beside not only a very busy highway, but late at night. We were so thankful to AAA and these great men who came to our rescue and made it possible for everyone and the boat to make it home safely.

      • My AAA membership is such a smart investment. Today my car broke down on the interstate. It was very comforting to know I could simply call AAA.       • A Great Experience When Dealing with a Flat Tire
      • I was driving on route 81 where I heard a pop. I'd never had a flat tire before and I had just bought the truck I was driving. When I got out of the car I found the tire had blown on the driver’s side. Here I am on the side of the highway with traffic flying by between 70 and 80 miles an hour, the tire is right next to the road and I was afraid of getting hit by the traffic. I called AAA and they said they would have someone there within the hour. The service man came in 45 minutes and changed my tire. I had never changed a tire before and did not know about a tool under the back seat that would release the spare tire. The service man was not just quick, but was friendly, and he taught me something as well. A flat tire could have been a bad experience but because of the quality service people that AAA employs it was a great experience. Keep up the great work AAA!

      • I was driving through Asheville NC on 1-240 on my way home to Black Mountain on Sunday, January 23rd. Several red indicator lights suddenly came on the dash board and the 2008 Nissan Versa completely lost power. I was just able to coast over to the break down lane and put on the emergency flashers. The car had power but would not re-start. With no cell phone I had to abandon the car, scramble up the embankment, and walk a couple of blocks to a hotel. The receptionist was polite and allowed me to use the lobby phone in order to call AAA. Within 20 minutes AAA arrived and took me and my car to the Asheville Nissan dealership. I left the keys and a note for the service department and my wife drove me home, still perplexed by the mysterious breakdown on this well-maintained car with only 54,000 miles. Late on Monday I learned that the culprit was bad fuel - water in the unleaded gas. The fuel pump was replaced, the fuel tank was drained, and spark plugs and injection system cleaned. Yes it was inconvenient and an expensive repair, but I am thankful that AAA was there with a prompt and professional response.

      • I recommend AAA to anyone. I live in a rural area. When it snowed the day after Christmas, unfortunately, I wound up in a ditch on the right side of the road going north. No one would help me get out of the ditch. I waited several days to see if any relative would help me. Nope. I called AAA roadside service. Someone came out from Washington, NC. He was so thorough, wouldn't let me get in the car, took his time and just let his training take course. I am so glad my brother started working with AAA when he graduated from college and that my dad was a member. It has inspired me to pass [AAA memberships] on to my daughters. I recommend it to anyone. National Motor Club (NMC) is nothing compared to AAA. With NMC I didn't even receive a card! I enjoy AAA.

      • AAA is a life saver. My mother and I were traveling to the mountains for a day trip and we were 75 miles away from home when the vehicle I was driving just stopped running. I called AAA for assistance and told them that I was not in a safe area and very nervous. They assured me that they would have someone out within 1 hour - but the wrecker pulled up within 30 minutes! He was able to take my mom and I to a local AAA rental service. We rented a vehicle and continued on up the mountain. We had a wonderful day thanks to AAA!

      • Hard Workers that Provide Quick Solutions
      • I drove up Sugar Ski Mountain in Boone, NC to visit a friend. She had assured me that the roads had been plowed and it was safe to get up to her house without getting stuck. Unfortunately, the last 50 feet of the directions on my GPS took me the wrong way. As I pulled into a snowy driveway to turn around, my car got wedged on 4”-5” storm’s worth of ice and snow. After 45 minutes of 2 girls furiously digging ,trying to unearth the car my friend asked if I had AAA. I am a longstanding member so we went back to her house and sat drinking coffee waiting for a tow truck. AAA worked hard to figure out where I was and kept me informed through 2 callbacks to the exact minute of when the tow service would arrive. When the tow truck got there he admitted I needed just a very small tug and that our rescue efforts had been valiant. It was good to not have to worry too long about being rescued and within an hour of calling I was back on the road! Thanks so much AAA!

      • I totally lost control of my car on the ice in January. When the State trooper arrived he asked me who to call for my wrecker. There were many accidents that morning, but AAA was there in less than 30 minutes. WOW! He was courteous, caring, and very helpful. His check list for me to grab out of my car were things like my garage door opener, personal items, CD’s , charger, etc. so I wouldn't leave things I might need right away. Even the Trooper commented on AAA’s timeliness and the driver’s friendliness. I never used my AAA membership before, but that day it was well worth it!

      • [I first joined AAA when I was] buying my first car-1968-and my parents had been long time members. [I renew AAA each year] because we use it. It's been awhile since we've needed a tow, ran out of gas, or had a dead battery, but we travel. Even with GPS, I like to have tour books and maps of the areas we are visiting, just in case. [I really like that AAA] will mail all of the info I want to my home-no need to run across town to pick it up. [AAA has worked] for me since 1968. I added my husband at some point and even though he is very good with fixing/taking care of vehicles - a dead battery, [being] locked out, etc. needs help. [My best AAA story is when] a friend and I were on an interstate-before cell phones-and I ran out of gas.       • A Pleasant, Professional, and Efficient Roadside Rescue
      • I twice had reason to call AAA for roadside assistance within the last five months, and both incidents were relatively close to my residence. Thus the same provider, Shane’s Towing of Supply, North Carolina, came to rescue me. On November 14, 2010, I was driving on a high speed highway in Leland, North Carolina, when I struck a deep pothole in the roadway, which incidentally blew out both left side tires and damaged both left side wheels. Shane’s towing came to my assistance, carefully winching my 2007 BMW 530i onto a car carrier truck, and delivered it to a BMW dealership in nearby Wilmington, North Carolina for repair. On March 20, 2011, I drove that same automobile onto a sandy soft shoulder of a Southport, North Carolina neighborhood street, to pause for a moment. Upon deciding to proceed back onto the paved road, I learned that I was unable to drive the car out of the soft sand, into which it had sunk. Once again, Shane’s Towing came to my rescue. This time they carefully winched my car back onto the hard pavement, instructing me to have the car washed, and in doing so, to select a wash that would clean the car’s undercarriage. An employee of Shane’s Towing assisted me in the first incident, while the owner Shane Humphrey, himself, assisted me on the second occasion. I was very impressed with the service the employee and Shane provide me. They were certainly knowledgeable…aware that my BMW has an eyebolt to insert into the chassis for safe and damage free extraction and loading. The gentlemen were polite and efficient, and apart from my poor judgment and personal embarrassment, both service experiences were pleasant. I thank Shane Humphrey, and his employee. I make mention to AAA their superior service performance, and I would certainly recommend Shane’s to my friends and neighbors.

      • I could not go another day without contacting you and letting you know how appreciative I am of your services. I joined AAA in 1999 after seeing how prompt an older sister received your services. I decided to join with AAA Plus RV plan. At the time I joined, my husband and I were the only drivers in our family. My three children became members when they began to drive and each received a membership card on their sixteenth birthday (along with a cell phone). As time progressed, two of my three children have gone to college. I always made sure that when they traveled that they had their cell phones charged and their AAA card. Your services have come in so handy and as a mother, gave me a peace of mind that can never be measured. We have used your services often. My sixteen year old son traveled during the recent holidays and had car trouble on the way home. I drove to meet him where he had broken down and meanwhile, he had called AAA. The tow truck arrived before I did and I was able to follow the tow truck home. This particular tow company driver even went so far as to try and assist my husband in troubleshooting what was wrong with the truck. All this mother cared about was that her son was home and safe. My daughter attends a college that is over two hours away from our hometown and she has had to use your services from time to time. Last night, around midnight, she called to say that her key had broken off in her door (she lives in Asheville). I told her not to worry (she was safe in her apartment) and we would take care of it today. I then called AAA to ask if that service was offered in our plan. It was and I called her back to tell her to call AAA for assistance. The company that AAA called got the broken key out of the lock and assisted her in getting a duplicate key. I can never express my gratitude and thankfulness to your company in making this mother worry a little less when car trouble arises. Both of my sons and daughter will be lifelong members of AAA because of their experiences. I even had my mother and younger sister become members because of our experiences. Thank you so much.

      • A Bad Situation Made Manageable Thanks to AAA
      • I wanted to provided you with and experience I had at your AAA location in Huntersville, NC. First I would like to say that we planned a Memorial Day trip to see family in PA, my father in-law has cancer and does not have long to live so this trip was special to my wife because we haven't been to PA in a while. We started out at 430am on Saturday 5/28/11 we got right out side of Huntersville and my truck broke down, made it to a gas station off of 77 south and that's when our hunt began to find a tow truck and a repair shop. After about an hour of trying to locate a tow place/repair shop we decided to call AAA. Once on the phone the rep advised us of the amount it would cost to have our truck towed and also the amount it would cost to get a one yr membership it cost about the same for a membership. So we decided to go with the one year membership and was towed to your Huntersville location. Once we were at the location the shop wasn't open yet, but Ken DeSouza, and Matt Baranoski arrived early and greeted us with a warm introduction and started assisting us before the place opened an they had a chance to log into their computers. They both were very friendly once we explained what happened they were on it. They got the part from the dealership fixed the problem and had us on our way in no time at all. Also during the entire process Ken continued to check with us while the repairs were being made, so what seemed like a terrible way to start out a long trip they both made this part of our trip easy and I was confident that they were doing all that they could to get us on our way as soon as possible. I just wanted to say excellent job and this will make me want to continue to have AAA once my membership expires. Sorry for the delay in providing you with this info but I've been extremely busy, but today I wanted to make sure I took time out to send you this email. Again I would like to say that they made a bad situation better and you don't find that to be the case now days.

      • This note is to express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible customer service provided by AAA and your affiliates. On Friday evening, my daughter was left stranded on the side of I-40 near Kernersville when her car died. My husband and I were driving to the Virginia mountains, and were 6 hours away from being able to help her. I called AAA and received immediate assistance. The Towing Company (All Over Towing) kept in touch. I want to especially thank J.J. of All Over Towing—when he realized how distraught I was at having my daughter stranded, he went and parked his vehicle behind my daughter’s stranded car and waited until the tow could arrive. Cheryl Leon picked her up and drove her (and towed her car) all the way to our service station in Cary. I was relieved that AAA would assign a female driver in this instance—it was reassuring from a mother’s perspective.       • AAA Protection When We Needed It the Most
      • In 2010, I was in the hospital with a problem. My wife had to call my son to bring her to the hospital. My wife was so upset she was unable to call AAA for help. My truck got a flat tire at the hospital and she told me so I called AAA but was in bed unable to be there to tell the AAA truck what to do and my son has never had AAA membership so he didn’t know what to do. To make a long story short, the AAA operator, at a very late hour, handled everything for me with the driver and I want you all to know how proud I was to know AAA was there to protect my family. God bless her and if I was a retired general, I would give her the highest medal I can give. My wife went into the hospital two days later in the same truck for heart problems and the same truck brought her home feeling better. I got all the tires put back in the correct place, but AAA you are the best.       • Security and Safety When It Matters the Most!
      • One of the best experiences that I had with AAA was when my car tire popped while driving down the interstate. A driver pulled up next to me and asked if he could help. I told him that I had AAA and would be just fine - but he did not leave. I called AAA immediately and talked to the operator about my situation. I told her about how uncomfortable I was sitting there by myself. Due to the situation she sent a truck out to help me and it showed up within 5 minutes! As soon AAA was in site, the driver of the stopped car pulled back onto the interstate. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I did not have AAA. Not only did they fix my car so I could continue on my trip, but they might have saved my life!

      • About 2 years ago I was driving home, late late late from work, and was about 2 miles from my house. It was dark and I didn’t see the pothole in the road until I felt the jolt, then heard the sound of my tire collapsing. Almost home – so close, but yet so far!!!! I immediately called AAA and they called someone to help me right away. My husband was only 2 miles away, but our little son was sleeping and he couldn’t leave him alone to come and help me – who wants to wake a sleeping child? The man AAA contacted gave me a quick call to tell me he was on his way, then AAA called back to ask if I was alone and afraid. They offered to stay on the line with me, but I told them I was in a good neighborhood and had a book to read, so I’d be just fine while I waited. The gentleman who fixed my tire could not have been nicer as he quickly fixed me up and sent me the rest of the way home. Such peace of mind to know that help like that is only a phone call away.

      • I believe it was the same month I joined AAA, and I couldn't start my car one morning. I was a recent widow with two children and needed my transportation problem to be resolved immediately. Even though I was at my own home with the problem car, I called AAA to get the car towed to a AAA service center and I rode to the service center in the tow truck. The service center shuttle took me back home and picked me up when my car work was complete. I was so grateful to have this convenient way of resolving my car issues at a reasonable price.       • I was returning from a lovely day out with high school buddies. I pulled into my friend's driveway to drop her off. She had left some things in the back seat, so I got out retrieving them, leaving the car running. She got out and somehow one of us hit the lock lever by mistake. There we were, outside the car with it running and my purse inside. Shouting 'No, No, No' and trying the door handle over and over didn't help. We went inside and called AAA, giving my friend's AAA member number since she was a passenger in my car. We got an immediate answer, and when they learned that the car was running, they expedited someone. A good thing, because I was almost on empty!       • I was driving my 1928 Chevrolet Street Rod back from a car show and without warning it developed a problem with the fuel pump, forcing me to pull off the road. I was pretty much stranded, as you don't just leave a car like that on the side of the road to go get help. Fortunately I had the two things I always carry when I travel, my cell phone and my AAA card. I made the call to AAA and requested roadside assistance for a tow truck. They sent a towing company right out and saved the day for me and my car. I had requested a car hauler to transport my car and that’s just what I got. The driver was very professional and loaded my car with care. He got me to my own mechanics garage, which meant a lot to me. I would have really been left in a bad situation if I was not a AAA member. I have informed many friends and acquaintances that my AAA premiums are one of the single best investments I have ever made. Being without AAA insurance to protect my vehicles as well as my family’s security is not even an option for me. Trust me; the cost to belong to AAA is well worth the peace of mind I get in return.

      • My husband and I were dating in the late 80's and...I started driving his red 1986 “944 Turbo Porsche”. I had always driven fast cars and had owned several classic muscle cars in the past. But a brand new Porsche was something I had never thought I'd get to drive. I loved that Porsche, but it was always having mechanical issues. When that happened it was necessary for me to have a towing service that used rollbacks because the car sat so low to the ground with only a few inches clearance it could not be towed any other way. On one of those rare occasions when the car was NOT having mechanical problems I pulled to a stop at a traffic light one day. I decided it would really be the perfect time to play a practical joke on the boyfriend. So I called Larry to tell him what was happening... The whole time I am on the phone with him, I was revving the engine so he can hear it. He wanted to know what was wrong. I told him I was sitting at the light behind an empty rollback tow truck (which was still in the slanted position needed for a car to be pulled up onto it), and the Porsche kept trying to move up onto the back of the truck. It got very quiet on the other end of the line. Then he busted out laughing when he realized what I was doing and that I was kidding...but with very good reason. I have always had wonderful service with all my cars and trucks, but especially with that Porsche (which we still have). So kudos to AAA, and to all the Towing Companies that you use to service all of your customers when in need. I always liked the fact to that the agent on the phone always asked me if I was in a safe and secure location also. It has been a few years now since I have used a towing service, but I will be calling AAA again one of these days.
