Instructor Certification & Continuing Education

 Instructor Certification

215X140AAA’s Driver Improvement Program is one of the nation’s leading defensive driving courses. You can become a AAA Certified Instructor and teach this valuable program in your school or business by attending a week-long certification course.

The Driver Improvement Program increases your school’s reach to a larger target market. The program can be used for traffic offenders, fleet managers, and mature drivers. In South Carolina, drivers looking to remove up to four points from their license can attend a AAA Driver Improvement Program at your South Carolina driving school.

Your AAA Instructor certification is valid for three years. To renew your certification, you will need to attend a one-day recertification course provided by AAA.

Please note: This class does not certify you to teach behind the wheel. Please contact your state's DMV for information on this type of certification.

Continuing Education

North Carolina driver education instructors can attend a AAA Continuing Education class to fulfill their required continuing education credits. Classes are eight hours and are accepted by the North Carolina DMV.
